Fundraising for Syrian Refugees
Inspired by some recent calls in my church congregation to raise funds and supplies to aid the Syrian refugee crisis in the Middle East and Europe, I decided to start a little fundraiser of my own. I have an old friend who runs a non-profit organization that provides education opportunities to Syrian refugee children in Lebanon. All funds raised will go to his Sadalsuud Foundation.
I am registered for the January 1, 2016 New Years Revolution Run at the Utah Olympic Oval. I will have 5 hours to complete as many laps as possible. 95.5 laps would be a marathon and I have set a goal to hit 100 laps. It is going to be horrible. I run, pretty much exclusively, as a way to get me up in the mountains to beautiful places. I am a trail runner, not a runner. So running in a circle for 5 hours, indoors, is going to be pure torture.
If you would like more information on how to pledge a $ amount per lap, visit this Facebook Event Page and message me.
Here is the current per-lap pledge total:
$11.60 per lap (updated 9 Dec.)
